Mental Health Tips #1

Feeling tired or anxious? It is important to take care of your mental health just as much as your physical health. Sometimes doing something nice for yourself can shift your mood, even just a little. Juggling school, work, friends, and home life can be exhausting but doing some things for yourself can make a difference. These tips are here to help if you get stressed or burnt out. Everyone deserves to have a sense of peace and control over their life. You just have to be the one to give yourself permission to help yourself.

Tip #1: Control your breathing.

In an anxious or stressful situation, it can be hard to breathe normally. Take a deep breath, hold it for a few seconds, slowly exhale and repeat. I know people always say to take a deep breath, but sometimes it can really help.

Tip #2: Organize your thoughts.

When schoolwork starts piling up as well as things in your own personal life or work life, it can make you nervous and feel like you have no control over anything. Take some time to think of the things you have to do for the day. Don’t focus on tomorrow; think of just today. If it helps, you could write whatever you are thinking about down. Sometimes just having a proper schedule can put you at ease so that the work is just layed out in front of you.
