Panthers vs. Broncos: Super Bowl 50

The NFL’s biggest event of the year is 8 days away! Super Bowl 50 will be held in Santa Clara, California on February 7, 2016, as the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos meet head to head. The Broncos ended the regular season with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses. The Panthers carried on the regular season with a 15 wins and 1 loss.
The Denver Broncos started the season strong with seven wins before they found their first loss in Indianapolis. After the loss to the Colts, the Broncos went home, back to Mile High Stadium to find their second loss of the season. The Broncos fell to the Kansas City Chiefs. On November 22, the Broncos recovered themselves with a victory over the Chicago Bears. On January 3rd, the Broncos won themselves a first round bye and a home field advantage for their first playoff game, with their victory over the San Diego Chargers. The team took their week off to refresh quarterback Peyton Manning, who sat out from week 10 to week 17, and defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on the 16 of January. The Broncos secured their spot in the 50th annual Super Bowl after their victory over the New England Patriots on January 24th.
The Carolina Panthers led a very strong season with only one loss. After 15 weeks of victories, the Panthers met their match in Atlanta on December 27th. The Panthers redeemed themselves a week later in Tampa Bay with a 38-10 victory over the Buccaneers. The victory over the Buccaneers also won the Panthers a first round bye, and a home field advantage for their first playoff game of the 2015 season. After defeating the Seattle Seahawks in the division championship game, the prepared for the NFC Conference Championship. The Panthers secured their place in the 50th annual Super Bowl with a 49-15 defeat over the Arizona Cardinals.
Great Bend High School students and staff have given their opinions on who the winners will be. Coach Wells thinks the Broncos will win due to this being Peyton Manning’s last game, and the way Denver’s defense has performed this season. Payton Doll says the Broncos are going to get whooped. Dakota Stevens really wants the Broncos to win.
Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers will meet Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on February 7, 2016, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Kickoff will take place at 7:30 (6:30 EST). Coldplay will be performing at the much anticipated halftime show.
