The tennis season began with an early start. Three days before schools started the tennis team began their hard work to become the best that they could possibly be. The reason for this is that in the first two weeks of school they have already had 4 meets. In these 4 meets the lady panthers  of the tennis team have already won 31 matches. The excitement doesn’t stop there though. This  Thursday the girls tennis team will be competing in the Great Bend tournament. The team consists of 16 girls who give their all in tennis and try their hardest to win. They have gotten many new players and even a new coach. The coach for this year’s tennis teams will be coach Bliven a middle school teacher right here in Great Bend. The new players this year are Katherine Snapp, Yulizza Barerra, Sayler Peplinski, and Emma Bieker. When asked what he had to say about this year the coach replied “It’s a growing year with a relatively young team but I expect some upsets in regional’s if the top players can step up to the challenge.” Coach Bliven also added that his goal for the team this year is “ My goal is to have a single state qualifier.” With this years goal, team, and new coach the lady panthers tennis team has a lot of potential.
