Tech Tips: Week 1

Daegan Davis, Writer

Hello I’m Daegan Davis. I’m a Senior at Great Bend High School and a computer enthusiast. I work at Bauer Computers, and I’m on the newspaper staff. Every week I will be posting two tech tips that could help everyone out there in the computer world. This weeks I’ll give out some tips on how to use Windows 10.

#1.  You can customize your Start menu by pinning your favorite apps or programs.  How you pin: once you find your favorite program under the ‘all apps’ tab in the menu, you right click and click pin to Start, and you’ll have your favorite program right in the menu. By default in Windows 10, you’ll have a few apps already pinned, and if you don’t want the program there, you can right click and click on unpin from start and it’ll remove the shortcut to the app.

#2.  Did you know that you can use Cortana? Not just to ask her questions, but it’s also useful to find your programs.  Just simply click the search bar, and start typing in the program you are looking for.
