My Time at GBHS

My Time at GBHS

Edith Solorzano, reporter

My high school experience has been a mix of many things. Starting off as being ordinary, my only motivation during my freshmen year was to be able to pass all my classes. As the years progressed I became more involved with the school making my life a little more chaotic but in a good way. Unfortunately high school is cut into 4 years and there are so many classes I would’ve liked to of taken and many events I would’ve liked to attend. Some of my favorite memories include FBLA state, soccer games/practices, sporting events, and pep assemblies.

If I could give advice to underclassmen it would be to make sure to get involved in clubs and sports your freshman year. Being a part of something gives you a sense of purpose and there also really fun to be in, you’ll learn a lot of new skills and make tons of new friends.

Also another piece of advice is to talk to your counselors. As a freshman I was always very shy and I wouldn’t ask a lot of questions but, your counselors are there to answer any question and help you through any situation. Also there are lots of new opportunities that come and go. If you don’t ask questions they will be gone and you could have possibly missed an opportunity of a lifetime.

High school is short so make sure to enjoy it. Try new activities, enroll into different classes, join clubs, the list goes on and on. You never know what those new things could bring you. They can open doors for you and help you achieve your goals and dreams. Thank you to all the teachers and staff who made my experience here better by helping me reach my goals and preparing me for my next 4 years of college. It has been great to be a Great Bend High Panther.
