Rumors of a student with a gun in his backpack began circulating the halls of Great Bend High School on Tuesday.  According to an email sent from GBHS Principal, Tim Friess, “During first lunch today, it was reported to the office that a student had a gun in his backpack. The student was pulled immediately from the lunch room and was searched. No weapon was found.  The reporting parties spread the word to others in the lunch room that there was a gun.  No gun was ever in the school, nor did the accused have access to one.  I had the rumor/lie checked out before the word ever got around.  I wanted to send this to our parents so that you will know ahead of time that the rumor was false.”
