Review: Mtn Dew Thrash Apple

Isaiah Smith, Reporter

Every other week, it seems like the popular soda company “Mountain Dew” comes out with some new, interesting flavor. Flavors such as Voltage, White Out, Pitch Black, Sweet Lightning, and Live Wire.  They electrify your taste buds each time you take a sip. The newest flavor that they added on September 13th is called ‘Thrashed Apple” which is a combination of Mtn Dew charged with crisp apples.

Personally, I didn’t have high expectations when I bought it, but I decided why not. If I had to describe it in a sentence: it tastes exactly how it sounds. Mountain Dew mixed with green apples. This newly profound flavor reminds me of those caramel covered apple lollipops that are usually sold around fall time, and everyone adores.

Pros: It’s new. It’s good. A terrific idea, especially around fall time. The design on the can is really pleasing to the eye, and the colors work perfectly with the theme of fall.

Con: It tastes bad when warm. The taste can get old after a while, and it’s still really unhealthy. But who expected it to be!

Overall, I give it a 7/10, because it does taste like something else already and that when it’s warm, it tastes bad. I would have liked to see more of an exploding taste, but it’s still good. The design and the taste saved it when it’s cold.
