Can Your Eye Color Predict Your Personality?
November 15, 2021
We have all heard of how zodiac signs, birth month, and even initials can predict our personality, but what about your eye color? Can eye color be a true predictor of someone’s personality? Caden Goodenough said “not really, eye color is 100% genetic,” and Payton Streit said “I don’t think so, just because I feel like everyone is different and eye color doesn’t really do anything.”
I polled 181 students at GBHS and analyzed their data to see if eye color is an indicator of personality. Let’s look at the results.
If you have blue, green, or brown eyes, you are more likely to be “catching up with friends or volunteering” on a Saturday night. Whereas, if you have hazel eyes, you are more likely to be “going on a date.”
Now, if you have brown or green eyes, you are more likely to be watching Parks & Rec on Netflix. But if you have blue or hazel eyes, you are more likely to be watching Gilmore Girls.
Those were the only two questions with contrasting data. The other questions all got the same response. All eye colors picked “I trust myself to make decisions quickly and easily,” “I speak my mind,” “I don’t use a calendar,” and “I roll over for just a few more ZZZ’s,” more than any other answer. So there is one of two conclusions to pull from this; either our data is inaccurate, or eye color cannot indicate personality.
