National Bill of Rights Day

On December 15th , in America it’s National Bill of Rights day, celebrating our founding fathers hard work to secure our individual rights and liberties. With ten amendments being ratified to compose what we know of as the Bill of Rights, there is still a lot of things that the average citizen might know. Here are 5 interesting facts about the Bill of Rights.
- There was originally 12 amendments to the Constitution, but the first two never got ratified.
- The structure of the Bill of Rights was inspired by the Virginian Declaration of Rights drafted in 1776.
- There were 14 original copies of the Bill of Rights
- James Madison was considered the main “author “of the Bill of Rights
- Madison thought that the Bill of Rights was pointless, but it ended up saving the Constitution
