First Pep Assembly…Huge Success!
September 10, 2015
The first pep assembly of the school year was on Friday, September 4th for the football game against Leavenworth. The assembly kicked off with a fall sports preview, in which coaches and seniors spoke about their team’s successes so far. Then, some of the staff showed off their moves while dancing to “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” by Silento. Next, two students from every class and two teachers played a game where they tried to pop each other’s balloons, which were tied around their ankles. Senior Brett Basye was triumphant. After that, the danceline performed their hip-hop number. Cheerleaders pepped up the school with a brand new stunt. The band livened up the school by playing the fight song and alma mater. Mr. Heath enjoyed hearing the band. “My favorite part was the band because the band rulez… with a Z,” says Heath. To conclude the assembly, each class faced off in a class chant competition. Senior Annika Smith says, “My favorite part was watching the teachers dance because it was funny to see Mr. McAtee Nae Nae.”
The next pep assembly will be in the beginning of October for the homecoming game. Go support the Panthers in all activities!
