If you were wondering what the top selling Christmas music was, then you have come to the right place. One of my favorite holidays is Christmas because I like to spend time with my family and watch them open their presents. I also love listening to some Christmas music while I’m in the car. So without further adieu, lets get into the story.
“Santa Baby- It’s a very cheerful song for Christmas and it gets me in the mood for Christmas.” said Great Bend High School senior Analiz Rivas.
6- ‘Santa Tell Me’ by Ariana Grande– This song was released on November 24, 2014. Ariana used the hashtag #10DaysTilSantaTellMe on Twitter to initiate the 10-day countdown of the song’s release. Ariana Grande is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is also married to Dalton Gomez, who is a an American luxury real estate agent. As of 2018, the song had sold over 597,000 copies in the United States. So, I’m sure this song has gotten a lot more sales since then.
5- ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ by Band Aid– This song was released in 1984, and has been remade several times over with different lineups, as Band Aid II in 1989, Band Aid 20 in 2004, and Band Aid 30 in 2014. The band was founded in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for anti-famine efforts in Ethiopia by releasing the song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?’.
4- ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ by Gene Autry– This song was recorded on June 27, 1949. This version of the song sold 1.75 million copies its first Christmas season and 1.5 million the following year and a total of 12.5 million.
3- ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ by Mariah Carey– This was was released in October 29, 1994. It is estimated that “All I Want for Christmas” generates $2-4 million in royalties ever year.
2- ‘Silent Night’ by Bing Crosby– This song was first recorded in 1945. This song sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

1- ‘White Christmas’ by Bing Crosby– This song was originally released in 1942 as a part of the movie ‘White Christmas’. This song spent eleven weeks on top of the Billboard charts in 1942. The Guinness Book of Records has named “White Christmas” as not only the best-selling Christmas song of all time, but also the best-selling single generally of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold.
