The Great Bend High School band is having a very busy September! September 4th, along with being the first High School football game, was the first time band performed a pre-game and halftime show! September 7th, the band marched down main street Hoisington in 100 degree weather. September 16th, the band will be going to the state fair to perform their half time show to an open group of people. Lastly, September 19th, band will be going to K-State to perform on the football field at halftime! The band has been working extremely hard during class, and early morning practices to prepare for all of the events. “We’ve had a great start to the beginning of the band. We started August 3rd with the freshman and the rest came in later in the week in order to be ready for the first game, state fair, and also the KSU band day. ‘Great Bend, great band’ is our motto,” says Mr. DeWald about the bands past and upcoming events.
