As we all know, as upcoming seniors, we are going to be able to paint our parking spots. So I am here to give you some potential ideas about what to paint and the requirements for painting your spot.

There are many different ideas that you can use to paint your spot. For example, you can get inspiration from your favorite movies, tv shows, books, and hobbies.

“I am going to paint my own spot, I haven’t really thought of what I am going to do yet but I was thinking of doing something with a panther head or a softball. I think letting the seniors paint their own spots is really cool and it gives them the privilege of having better parking than the rest of the school.” said

Paige Thexton, a junior, “I also think it gives the underclassmen something to look forward to as they get older. I am also super excited to have my own spot then, I know I can get to school however close to the bell as I want and I’ll still have a good parking for school.”

If you are interested in painting your parking spot, there will be an informational meeting on May 10, during connect in the auditorium. There will be a presentation about the rules and requirements given to us by our WAC leadership: Paige Thexton, Sadie Spray, Alex Galindo, and Mathew Johnson.

There will be some expectations you will need to follow if you are wanting to paint and keep your spot. The first on is your attendance, you can not have more than 5 unexcused absences or you will lose your spot and have to pay a $20 fee. The next expectation is that you have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. The final requirement is your behavior, you are not allowed to have any referrals.

“Yes, I will hopefully be painting my own spot. I will be painting one of my favorite album covers. My thoughts about letting seniors paint their own spots are positive. I think this is something that allows seniors to keep working hard in school by having to keep a 3.0 gpa for their parking spot.Im very excited about this idea and can’t wait to see the turnout.” said junior, Alex Galindo.

Mr. Wilson hopes that there will not be any problems next year as he plans to address them at freshman orientation and an all school assembly.
