Did you know that a cute way to propose in the penguin world is to give your partner a pebble. Once the male Gentoo and Adelie penguins find their perfect companion, he then will search the entire beach to find the perfect pebble to try and win their heart. Once he finds his perfect pebble, he will then lay it at their feet, if they accepts the pebble, then they will be mates for life.

If you are looking for more fun facts about animals, then you have come to the right place. I hope that you enjoy these facts about sharks, penguins, cats, mosquitos, and polar bears.

You may think that sharks kill more people, than people kill sharks, but you would be wrong. Between 100-273 million sharks are killed by humans each year. These sharks are primarily killed for a dish called shark fin soup that has high monetary and cultural value in China. Only about 6-8 humans are killed by sharks each year.

Cailee Moeder, a Great Bend High School sophomore, said “My favorite animal is a Koala. I think cats have maybe 75 muscles in their ears.”

Cats have 32 muscles in their ears. This allows them the ability to swivel and rotate their ears to pinpoint the source of every noise. This also allows them to move each ear independently and rotate them 180 degrees.

Underneath their snowy complexion, Polar bears have jet black skin. While their white fur helps camouflage them in the snowy environment they live in, their jet black skin helps them absorb heat to stay warm.

“My favorite animal is a dog. I think mosquitos kill more people each year.”, said Great Bend High School sophomore, Ava Gregg.

You may believe that the deadliest animal in the world would be sharks, bears, or tigers, but you would be mistaken. The deadliest animal in the world is the mosquito. About 725,000 people are killed every year by mosquito-born diseases like Malaria and yellow fever.

This concludes my facts about animals. I hope you enjoyed learning some new interesting facts and I hope you have an amazing day.
